There are different types of financial support that small and big scale businesses can benefit from during the pandemic in Sweden. Swedish authorities have been working on various packages that can help businesses decrease their monthly costs and keep their businesses afloat.

Employers receive supports for taxes and employer fees.
For limited companies, tax allocation also reserves in the income tax return for 2020. Companies can also postpone payments of the taxes and fees with a 3% interest rate.
Employer fees have been reduced between 1st of March to 30th of June from 31,42% to 10,21%. This applies for up to 30 employees and on salaries up to 25.000 SEK.
Employees can get 20, 40, 60 or 80% paid leave with their salaries with a little amount of cut.
Regarding the short time work allowance support, employers can offer their employees 20, 40 or 60% paid leave from the 16th of March to the end of the year. In this case, the state will pay around half of the employee’s salaries. Additionally, from May to the end of July, they can offer 80% paid leave as well. There will be a 7 to 8% loss in employee salaries in total in the case of getting this support.
The state supports companies' loss of revenues.
The government announced a new support package for businesses. The main idea behind this is to help businesses that have been affected negatively by the loss of demand for their products and services during the coronavirus outbreak. This package aims initially at small and medium-sized businesses.
To be eligible for this support, companies show at least 30% loss of turnover, they are supposed to calculate the turnover of March and April in 2020 in comparison to March and April in 2019. Additionally, they must meet the requirement that the turnover of the most recent fiscal year must be 250.000 SEK at least.
Businesses meeting with the criteria will get support packages from between 22.5% to 75% of the fixed costs excluding salaries. The payment for this support will be paid by Skatteverket.
Region Skåne gives grants up to 200.000 SEK to Skåne-based companies.
Region Skåne has announced financial support for Skåne-based companies that were hit hard by the corona outbreak, the support will be in the range of between 50.000 SEK to 200.000 SEK. The primary total budget is decided as 9.7 million SEK. To be able to apply these support companies must be standalone (not owned by 25% or more by one or more) and must have a turnover of at least 2 million SEK generated by customer revenue.
How can companies use the money given by Region Skåne? There are some requirements for the way of spending this money. Firstly, the money will be used to cover 80% of the total cost of a project, in addition, the companies are expected to pay 20% as well. Secondly, companies should be able to prove the consultancy costs with invoice copies. This means that the money will go to the purchase of external consultancy support with the aim of helping companies that have been negatively affected by the coronavirus outbreak to change their operations to ensure long-term survival. Additionally, the projects will be about digitalization, exporting to the new markets, environment sustainability and similar.
The application is open from the 1st of May for the businesses interested in this support and the process will proceed online.
